    Bon A Petite!

    Blue Cornbread

    1 1/2 cups blue cornmeal
    2 teaspoons baking powder
    3 tablespoons granulated sugar
    3/4 cup milk
    1 large egg, beaten
    3 tablespoons bacon fat
    1 small can green chiles, chopped

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

    Combine cornmeal, baking powder and sugar. Mix remaining ingredients separately. Add liquid mix to dry ingredients and mix thoroughly. Pour into a greased baking pan and bake for 30 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean.
